The Sydney Harbour Bridge joins the Sydney's northern and southern shores at Milson's Point and Dawes Point. Since it opened in 1932 it has been a major attraction and international icon for the City of Sydney and Australia.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is visible from many places around The Rocks and Circular Quay. There are some of the best views of the Bridge from the concourse at East Circular Quay from the "Toaster" to the tip of Bennelong Point in front of the Sydney Opera House.

Although Sydney is a young city by world standards many of the buildings in the Rocks area have been heritage listed in order to preserve the early history of Sydney.

There are a great many pubs, cafes, and restaurants in this area. Access is easy from all directions if you can use public transport, There are a number of car parking stations but parking space for cars is often difficult and most destinations are within easy walking distance.

Ferries, buses and trains all service this area which is only a short walk from the entrance to the footway for a walk from pylon to pylon. (Sydway map 277 reference: K 13)
